Whiskey Tasting Review – Redemption Wheated Bourbon

What are you reviewing? Redemption Wheated Bourbon

What overall grade do you give it? B-

Do you remember how much you paid for the bottle? $50

Is the whiskey worth what you paid? Maybe

Nose – Scent of grains, a bit oaky, and a little bit of vanilla. Almost no alcohol burn at all.

Palate – Slightly sweet with a little bit of vanilla, maybe a little walnut.

Finish – Long, spicy, complex finish.

Does this whiskey remind you of a different whiskey? Not particularly, though it’s more important to note that it DOES NOT remind me of Weller at all, and I think perhaps some would expect it to.

In your opinion, what’s the best use of this whiskey (sipping or mixing? Any recommendations on a particular mix? This is a mixing bourbon to me. I didn’t dislike sipping it, but there are just too many others I’d prefer to sip over this one. The complexity makes me think it’d be good in a Manhattan.

Is there anything about the whiskey we should know that we didn’t ask? I don’t regret buying this bottle, but I do not plan to replace it when it is gone.
