Whiskey Tasting Review – E.H. Taylor, Small Batch

What are you reviewing? EH Taylor Small Batch

What overall grade do you give it? A

Do you remember how much you paid for the bottle? $56

Is the whiskey worth what you paid? Yes

Nose – Very sweet smell, a little caramel, but also a little burn from alcohol

Palate – Sweetness still, maybe a little vanilla?

Finish – Still a nice sweetness, more vanilla, but with a little spice to it.

Does this whiskey remind you of a different whiskey? Reminds me a bit of Four Roses Small Batch, or a more flavorful, smoother Buffalo Trace.

In your opinion, what’s the best use of this whiskey (sipping or mixing? Any recommendations on a particular mix? This is a versatile whiskey to me. I will certainly sip it again, but I could also see it going VERY WELL in an Old Fashioned if you wanted to.

Is there anything about the whiskey we should know that we didn’t ask? The biggest problem I have with it is that it’s so hard to find, and because it’s hard to find, it’s hard to get at a reasonable price. I think what I paid for it is the cap I’d spend on it.
